Romans 5:12 – Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
Horror movie fans and Vampire fans know about the story or myth about Vampires entering your house. According to the myth, Vampires can’t enter your house unless you invite them in. However strong and powerful they are, they will not be able to enter your home. So they have to appear as normal people, like a neighbor, to deceive you so you would let them in.
This myth is very similar to the reason why there’s evil in this world.
When God created the world, it was perfect as it was said in the Bible (Genesis 1:31, 1 Timothy 4:4). Adam and Eve originally doesn’t have sin and they live harmoniously with God. They can talk to Him directly and they can hear His voice.
But when the devil had sinned against God, he was thrown out from heaven, but not to earth, as most people believe. After they have thrown out of heaven, the devil still has the freedom to go wherever he wants to. He’s not thrown and punished in hell; not yet.
In the book of Job, it says that the devil still has the freedom to visit heaven and still talks to God (Job 1:6-12).
So when Adam and Eve were created, the devil introduced the first sin to Eve. And the moment Eve disobeyed God, she let sin and evil into this world. It is the same case with Adam because he listened to the woman instead of obeying God.
If they have been faithful to God, they wouldn’t have sinned and we would be living a perfect life today; no problems, no sickness, no famine, and no death.
So it is clearly that it’s not God’s fault that the world is full of evil. We can’t ask, “If God is all-powerful, then why does He let evil in this world?”
The world is messed up because of our own decisions. God let these things happen because of our free-will.
It is God’s desire that we have harmonious relationship with Him but we chose to believe the devil and be on our own. Isn’t that what happened when Eve decided to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil? She wants to be like God, the same like Lucifer did.
The devil passed us these lies and sin so we would join him in his curse.
God didn’t throw the devil and his angels here on earth. It was us who let them in. And until today, we are choosing the devil’s lies over God’s truth.
In our home, it’s so much the same as letting the Vampire in. We let sin enter our home instead of the Holy Spirit, that’s why more families are having conflicts with each other. We let evil thoughts enter our minds instead of the words of God that’s why we believe things that are far from the truth.
And we let evil enter our hearts instead of our Lord Jesus Christ that’s why we have evil desires instead of God’s will.
But just because evil rules the world now doesn’t mean we have to live it. We were given the chance to live with God by letting Jesus enter in our hearts so our sins would be washed away. (1 John 1:7-9, 1 Peter 1:22, Acts 22:16, 2 Peter 1:9, Hebrews 9:14, Hebrews 10:22, John 15:3, 1 Corinthians 6:11, Ephesians 5:26, Isaiah 1:18)
We were given the second chance.
But still, it’s our choice.
The devil has entered our world and now ruling it. Are you going to also let him in your home and in your heart?
