Seek

Luke 11:9
“And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.”

One of the best things that happened in my life was when I get the chance to meet the Lord. It started when I watched this movie about our Lord Jesus’ life on a Lenten season. And when I heard the lines and words of our Lord in this movie, I was amazed. I was kind of into philosophy those times and when I heard his words, I admired his intelligence, or the way he answered those Jewish priests. After watching that movie, I tried to checked our bible if they are true and written in the bible or just the movie writer’s creative lines. And I found them. I had a reference because the movie ending tells that the movie was based on the book of Luke. So I searched the book, and found it.

After a short period of time, my uncle, now a Baptist pastor, became a Christian and visited us every week to share his blessing of knowing the Lord. I didn’t held myself back from believing his testimonies and immediately accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. This was one of the best (if not the best) feeling that I had felt, and the best thing that happened in my life. There’s nothing beat the feeling of knowing the Lord personally. It is true that if you seek Him, you shall find Him (Luke 11:9). But I believe that He’s the one who first called me and sought me. Being in the Lord and being born again is like being a new person, literally. No waves and storms are strong enough when you hold His hand.

I really admire my uncle for his enthusiasm and determination for sharing the Good news to us. He didn’t kept it to himself and stayed on his comfort zone. He travels back and forth, 8 miles every week, to share the Gospel, even though some of us hides from him and refused to listen.

These days, I’m trying to relive the enthusiasm that I once had when I was a new born Christian. I feel that I had become stagnant and need to revive and fuel the dying flame inside me.
