Bible Authentication: Can We Depend Our Lives On The Bible?

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

On my recent post titled Bible, I discussed why it is important, authentic, and divine. I discussed them in general and summarized form to shorten a very long topic and prevent boredom. But I would like to go deeper and discuss some outline in more detailed.

Right now, I would like to discuss about the ‘linking’* of the books of the Bible. These ‘linking’ give validations to other books, and this works well and provides strong authentication on Old Testament prophecies that are fulfilled in the New Testament.

Some Old Testament passages have been used by our Lord Jesus Himself and numbers of Old Testament prophesies that refers to Him has been fulfilled.
How can we be sure that the Bible hasn’t changed or corrupted?

After thousands of years that the manuscripts of the Bible have been written and hundreds of translations, can we still guarantee that the original manuscripts have been preserved in our modern translations? Some denominations recommend certain translations and some even have their own translations!

The widely used modern Bible translation that is said to be closest to the original manuscripts is the King James Version 1611 or KJV Bible or Bible King James.

On the other hand, some of the original manuscripts have not been preserved and lost through time. Others say that we don’t have the original manuscripts of the Bible and all we have is the copies and copies and copies. If it is true that there are no more existing original copies to be compared with our modern translations, then this is where the ‘divinity’ of the Bible enters.

There are lots of myths and stories that spreads regarding the original manuscripts. But up to this time, I haven’t gotten a confirmed facts yet. These stories ranged from whether all the original manuscripts were lost, or they were kept in a museum or some place. But still, there are lots of things to support the authenticity of the Holy Bible. One is its divinity.
No other books that describes and presents our Creator. Other books only tell stories of gods. The Bible is the only book that our Creator presents Himself to the people. The Bible also contains his Words. Other books only contains sayings and philosophies.

The Bible contains thousands of prophecies, some are already fulfilled and some still to happen. The marvelous fulfilled prophecies are enough reason to believe that the Bible is the word of God.

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

This was spoken by our Lord Jesus (Matthew 24:35). I believe that the all-powerful God, who created the universe, is capable of preserving his words. There are lots of stories of the Bible’s suppression and corruption, but by the grace of God, it is still here. And like I said before, these are strong words from our Lord. Heaven and earth are vast enough that our limited mind couldn’t totally comprehend. But soon, according to Him, these things will be gone. But his words, they are eternal.

I will discuss soon the Bible’s history of suppression and corruption such as early Christian’s persecutions and torture, and the discoveries of Bible’s alleged lost books (the gospel of Mary Magdalene and Judas) and the Da Vinci code and others. See ya!

*linking- passages on the Bible that appeared more than once, such as passages quoted by the Apostles and fulfilled prophecies.
